Androsace albana - – This attractive species is a monocarp or, at best, short-lived. None-the-less, it is worth the effort for its clusters of white flowers on short stems above a nice basal rosette. Androsace carnea ssp. Lageri - This sub-species makes a tighter cushion with pink flowers on very short stems. Just a bit more difficult than the other sub-species. It requires half sun and a very well drained soil or scree or pot culture with winter protection. (3”h x 3”w) RG,T, 2.5” - $5.50

Androsace carnea v. brigantiaca Androsace carnea v. brigantiaca - Tiny cushions with white flowers on short stems in early spring. This is one of the easier of the elite Androsaces. Androsace carnea v. rosea – Androsace carnea v. rosea – - This variety forms a small cushion with pink/red flowers in early spring. It is one of the easier of the elite Androsace. Androsace hirtella Androsace hirtella - A choice but challenging little cushion plant which is covered with white flowers just above fuzzy rosettes of leaves. Androsace mathildae - This lovely little species makes a cushion of bright green, shinny leaves with white flowers on very short stems. I find that it is not long-lived, but can be very attractive for a few seasons. It will need scree conditions with some protection from hot sun. It is also a very nice trough plant. Androsace sarmentosa v. Chumbyi Androsace sarmentosa v. Chumbyi - Furry rosettes of leaves produce flowers on 3" stems in May. Then runners produce new rosettes for next year. Very hardy and nice. Requires rock garden conditions in full sun. Himalayan Mts. Easy. (3"h x 8"w) RG, T, 3.5" - $5.00

Androsace sempervivoides Androsace sempervivoides - Rosettes of leaves produce pink flowers in May. Runners spread the colony. Must have well drained soil preferably in full sun. Himalaya. Easy. (3"h x 12"w) RG, T, 3.5" - $5.00

Androsace villosa - Another difficult but growable gem which makes rosettes of silky leaves with small white flowers just above the cushion. If happy, this species will slowly spread into a clump. Andryala aghardii - Add this one to your collection of plants with gray-white leaves. From a basal clump of these leaves come small yellow daisy flowers in summer. A beautiful combination. Anthemis carpatica ‘Karpatenschnee’ Anthemis carpatica ‘Karpatenschnee’ - A choice, small camomile for the rock garden. From a tuft of foliage emerge many pure white flowers with yellow centers. Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi ‘variegated’ Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi ‘variegated’ - Here is a wonderful and easy foliage plant to brighten up the rock garden all season. The variegated leaves have a good white/green stripe. In the fall reddish purple spots add to the show. White flowers are a bonus. Easy. (6"h x 12"w) , 3.5"-$5.00
